Description

Come and see a very free-spirited and delightfully off-the-wall adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The Cie du Deuxième performs ‘classical’ theatre in the street – Shakespeare, to be precise – just as he might have done in his day… The audience is treated to an offbeat artistic performance staged live. Romeo looks dashing in his fifties with a wig, whilst Juliet is a bit older. Menopausal? So what? Bulky props, ill-fitting costumes – so what? Kurt Cobain or Easton Corbin – the musician can’t quite make up his mind – so what? Juliet kneels in tears beside a deceased Romeo. You leave this play with tears of laughter in your eyes, but with one doubt: haven’t we been brilliantly taken for a ride? That is the question! Suitable for all ages, free admission. Recommended minimum age: 10 years
