On one side, the laughter of children playing on the beach; on the other, lively discussions on café terraces: no doubt, you’re on Argelès-sur-Mer’s seafront promenade! Did you know? It’s an integral part of the longest seafront in the Pyrénées Orientales. A true walker’s paradise, it’s also the perfect place to saddle up… or even try your hand at rollerblading!

From the port of Argelès-sur-Mer, all roads lead to the promenade. Well, especially the harbour footbridge! A real link between the port and the seafront promenade, it leads straight to your iodine-filled stroll.
Before using it, however, you should take the time to stroll along the quayside. It’s a great opportunity to admire the colorful Catalan boats and smell the fresh fish. You’ve had your fill of sensations? Then it’s time for a breath of sea air on the seafront promenade!
For almost 2 kilometers, past beaches, cafés and little boutiques, it takes you to the Bois des pins. No fewer than 2,000 trees here are over a hundred years old! The perfect way to combine a stroll with a trip back in time.
In Argelès-sur-Mer, we like to play with clichés. So much so, in fact, that we’ve put them on display on the seafront promenade! Every year, a new photo exhibition opens its doors facing the Mediterranean. Urban art takes center stage, painted on 94 recycled panels by various artists. Take a look during your stay in Argelès!

If after a few meters on foot, your shoes are starting to wear out, it’s time to take a seat on the terrace of one of our restaurants or cafés. Along the Argelès seafront promenade, a multitude of good addresses await you to sample their specialties. Escalivada and bunyetes will delight your palate!
Once you’ve reached the seafront promenade, you’ll immediately realize that it’s divided into different areas to suit walkers and cyclists alike. For everyone’s sake, make sure you stay on the right side!

Shopping and sunbathing are just one step away (literally!). While the small boutiques on one side of the promenade are a delight for shoppers, the many beaches on the other will appeal to beach lovers. On the seafront promenade, take time out to admire the blue immensity… And why not put down your towel?
