Description
Les Scènes de Valmy, an open-air theatre overlooking the sea, will be hosting the "Classique en août" troupe for a month. Made up of around thirty artists, both professional and amateur, from all over France and from a number of theatre companies, the "Classique en août" troupe will give a performance of a great text from the repertoire every evening (except Tuesdays). For this 2026 edition, the artists propose :
- Cyrano de Bergerac. A dramatic comedy by Edmond Rostand, directed by Benjamin Ziziemsky.
Cyrano de Bergerac, a Gascony cadet with a big nose, secretly loves the beautiful Roxane, his cousin and protégé of the vile Duc de Guiche. Thirsty for the ideal but hindered by self-loathing, he chooses to help young Christian seduce her by lending him his verve and wit rather than declare his love himself.
