At the summer solstice, the Canigó flame arrives in Argelès-sur-Mer to light bonfires: the Sant Joan jibs.
From 7pm onwards, in the Place Gambetta, a myriad of entertainment in Catalan colours awaits you: a choir of pupils from bilingual classes, sardana dances by the Foment de la Sardane, Catalan songs by the singers from Els Cantaires d'Argelers, dans de Gegants with the Colla gegantera catalan i cultural d'Argelès... Then, at around 10pm, the Canigó flame will ignite the great Saint John's bonfire, fuelled by the ramallets from last year. Rousquilles and muscatel wine will be offered to the public along with a festive concert by the group Solyrock, to get the summer off to a great start!
