Already mentioned in 920, it was almost entirely rebuilt in the 14th century, in a Gothic style that is quite rare in the department. Argelès is the example of this architecture in the Roussillon region.
The church has a total of 103 works of art for about thirty saints. The vault and the roof were renovated at the end of the 18th century.
