Argelès-sur-Mer is the most labelled commune in Languedoc-Roussillon. To date, nearly 50 accommodation and leisure facilities have been awarded the “Qualité Sud de France” label.
The 7km of beach have been awarded the Blue Flag, which ensures that the water is perfectly clean and the beaches are permanently safe and cleaned every day.

This international distinction was awarded to Argelès-sur-Mer for

the quality of bathing water,

beaches cleaned daily,

the water purification plant,

the selective collection of household waste,

the first aid posts set up along the beach, including one labelled Handiplage accessible and equipped to accommodate the motor handicapped (post no. 3).
