Start by visiting the streets of the old village to meet the many producers present at the weekly markets.
Fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat or delicacies, this is the ideal place to find what you are looking for.
Local producers are present on Wednesday and Saturday mornings throughout the year.
Along the Avenida de la Liberació, you will find the many narrow streets surrounding the Church of Nuestra Señora del Prat, where you will find various craft shops, such as florists, manufacturers of scented candles, jewellery, soaps or the sale of paintings of the most beautiful landscapes of the region.
It is pleasant to get lost in the many alleys of the village. At the corner of an alley, the Casa de l’Albera, the house of heritage, is hidden, where it is possible to discover the history of Argelès-sur-Mer through the Albères massif and the many traditions that have been lost over the centuries.

A guided tour is offered twice a week. During this tour, you will discover the charm of this town with its 13th century church and the remains of its medieval ramparts.

In the heart of summer, it’s time to stop for a drink on one of the many terraces in the village to enjoy the fine Catalan weather and atmosphere. From the cafés and sodas of the Place Gambetta, to the Sangria of the Place de la République, to be drunk in moderation of course.
If you like entertainment, there is plenty to do in the village. During the summer season, there is the Music Festival, the Saint-Jean Festival or the Diades, a traditional Catalan festival. Good atmosphere guaranteed.
Out of season, the village offers a beautiful Christmas market and many other activities to brighten up your day.
