In August, make way for theatre in the enchanting setting of Les Scènes de Valmy! Les Scènes de Valmy, a green theatre with a sea view, will be hosting the "Classique en août" troupe for a month. Made up of around thirty artists, both professional and amateur, from all over France and from several theatre companies, the "Classique en août" troupe will be giving a performance of a great text from the repertoire every evening (except Saturdays). For this 2025 edition, the artists are offering two shows.


CYRANO DE BERGERAC
Edmond Rostand's famous dramatic comedy, directed by Benjamin Ziziemsky
Cyrano de Bergerac, a Gascony cadet with a big nose, secretly loves the beautiful Roxane, his cousin and protégé of the vile Duc de Guiche. Thirsty for the ideal but hampered by self-loathing, he chooses to help young Christian seduce her by lending him his verve and wit rather than declare his love himself.

On his wedding day, Fadinard sees his horse eat the straw hat of Anaïs Beauperthuis, who is in the middle of an 'affair' with her lover. Fadinard is forced to go in search of an identical hat to save himself from her jealous husband. To avoid arousing the suspicions of his future father-in-law, who arrives with the whole wedding party, he drags her along on his mad quest...
