This is THE day of the Festa Major! From 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., traditional markets and Catalan traditions take over the streets and sweep you off your feet in a festive and convivial whirlwind. On the menu:
TRADITIONAL MARKET AND FESTIVAL
8am to 1pm, rue de la République, place de la République, rue du 14 Juillet and avenue de la Libération
A friendly atmosphere, colourful and tasty stalls, local and seasonal produce... What a pleasure to shop in the open air, in the heart of the village!
APERO* CITY
From 11.00 am, avenue de la Libération
The Argelès-sur-Mer municipal team invites you to join them for a festive aperitif as they take you on a musical tour of the market and the Avenue de la Libération.

FESTA MAJOR MEAL
At 1pm on Place Gambetta
Come and share a great moment of conviviality over the Festa Major meal of Catalan flavours, with the famous Catalan-style snails concocted by the Mayor as a starter. Bring your own cutlery (plate, cutlery and glass)!
Tickets cost €10. Book before September 18 at boutique.ville-argelessurmer.fr and at the Tourist Office (04 68 81 15 85), the Argelès Camp Memorial and the Casa de l'Albera.

CATALAN FESTIVITIES
Afternoon, Place Gambetta and village streets
It all starts with the passe-ville, the traditional procession through the streets of all the participants. The festivities continue in a lively atmosphere, with a mix of street and square entertainment: bodega hosted by the village shopkeepers' association, brass bands in blood and gold (PAS DE FANFARES L'APREM), sardanes with the Foment de la Sardane and ballet (traditional dances), Catalan songs with Els Cantaïres d'Argelers, the Gegants de la Colla Gegantera i cultural catalana d'Argelers, castells (human towers)... Not forgetting the sparkling correfocs* (fire show)!
SPARKLING MUSICAL FINALE
From 9pm, Place Gambetta
To round off the day's festivities, the group HOLD UP will be performing a concert that will take you on a whirlwind of dance and a fireworks display will light up the Argelès sky in a thousand colours.
