Festa de la Sant Joan
At the summer solstice, the Canigó flame arrives in Argelès-sur-Mer to light bonfires: the Sant Joan jibs. Climbed by seasoned runners from the summit of the Canigó, the flame will arrive at the port at around 8.30pm, where it will take its place on a llagut de rem (Catalan boat). It will then head for the Charles Trenet esplanade by sea. There, horsemen will escort it to the Place Gambetta, already abuzz with festivities.
